Saturday is packed. Sunday is built for staying awhile.

Labor Day weekend brings several real choices instead of one obvious headliner. Saturday has a free family festival, two big rock options, nature journaling, and an easy brewery stop. Sunday shifts west for an all-day local music fundraiser, while a community picnic in Leesburg offers a closer alternative. Friday's late comedy show is the indoor option if you want to start tonight.

Friday or Saturday

Tally Ho weekend: late comedy and a Foreigner tribute

Official details

Friday's added late show brings five DC-area comics downtown after the first show sold out. Saturday switches to a fully seated Foreigner tribute, so this is the weather-safe option for either night.

Both shows are ticketed. The venue still showed a ticket link for the late comedy show and the Saturday concert when checked Friday morning.

Saturday

Family Fest at Village at Leesburg

Official details

This is the easiest family pick: four free hours of play, music, and community activities in one place. It gives younger kids a real outing without turning the entire day into a schedule.

Admission is free. Registration is encouraged but not required on the official event page.

Saturday

The Super 70's Rock Show at Tarara

Official details

Super Trans AM and The Darby Brothers close the long-weekend Saturday with songs from Boston, Journey, Queen, Foreigner, Styx, and the Eagles. Choose this if you want a full outdoor concert rather than a drop-in music set.

General admission was listed from $23.90 when checked Friday. Bring chairs or a blanket, and check the organizer's weather update before leaving.

Saturday and Sunday

Pumpkin ale and oyster weekend at Dirt Farm

Official details

Dirt Farm is releasing its roasted-pumpkin amber ale while Nomini Bay serves raw and charbroiled oysters. It works as a flexible western Loudoun stop when you want food, a view, and no fixed showtime.

The brewery lists Saturday hours from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sunday hours from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Oysters are sold separately.

Sunday

LoCo Fest at 868 Estate Vineyards

Official details

More than 50 Loudoun musicians are scheduled across a nine-hour fundraiser for local music equipment and programs. This is the all-day Sunday choice, with wine, beer, food trucks, and enough bands that you do not need to arrive at noon to get a full afternoon.

The event is ticketed and runs rain or shine. Children 16 and under are free but still need a ticket, and the organizer says same-day tickets will be available at the door.

Also worth knowing

01

NPHC-LC Greek Picnic Throwback

Sunday

The National Pan-Hellenic Council of Loudoun is hosting an afternoon of music, fellowship, and picnic time for Divine Nine members, families, friends, and supporters. Bring chairs or a blanket; food and drinks will be sold, and guests may also bring a picnic.

02

Beginning a Nature Journal Practice

Saturday

A short guided start for anyone who wants to pay closer attention outdoors without needing to be an artist or naturalist. Supplies are provided, though you can bring a favorite notebook and drawing tools.

03

DC Car Community Car Show

Saturday

A free, two-hour showcase for people who would rather look at interesting cars than commit to a full festival. It also leaves most of Saturday open for another plan.

Three ways to plan it

01

If you are planning around kids

Use Family Fest as the main Saturday outing. It is free, compact, and leaves room for an early dinner or the car show beforehand.

02

If Saturday night is the point

Choose Tarara for an outdoor 1970s rock show, or Tally Ho for a fully seated Foreigner tribute downtown. Check the weather before choosing the outdoor concert.

03

If you want a long Sunday

LoCo Fest can carry the whole afternoon and evening. The Greek picnic at Ida Lee Park is the closer, shorter alternative if nine hours of music feels like too much.
